Golf Caddy Assailant in Tangerang Officially Detained, Faces 5 Years in Prison
Police have named a 38-year-old man with the initials FP as a suspect in the assault of a golf caddy in Tangerang City. FP has now been officially detained. “He has been detained since last night,” said Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari, in a statement on Saturday (27/6/2026). For his actions, FP is charged under Article 466 of the Criminal Code. “With a maximum penalty of five years in prison,” he added. Police identified FP after a video of him assaulting a woman working as a golf caddy went viral. The incident occurred at a golf course in Tangerang City on Tuesday evening, 23 June 2026. FP was arrested by the Tangerang City Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, led by Adjunct Senior Commissioner Parikhesit, on Friday (26/6) at around 09:00 WIB. FP was arrested at his residence in the Kemiling sub-district of Bandar Lampung City. Police confirmed that FP is not a public official, contrary to viral narratives on social media. FP is a businessman who buys and sells used cars. “Self-employed. He looks for used cars in Jakarta and sells them in Lampung, Sumatra,” Jauhari stated. Preliminary investigations revealed the assault was triggered by an argument. The victim reportedly became jealous when the suspect said ‘thank you, my dear sister’ to a female marshall whom he had asked to buy drinks. The victim, who is a golf caddy and frequently served the suspect during his games, overheard the remark. She then became emotional, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated into physical assault. The incident went viral on social media. CCTV footage circulating online shows the victim and the suspect initially riding in a golf car. The two then became involved in an argument, culminating in the suspect pulling the victim’s hair until she fell from the golf car. The victim was then assaulted by the suspect. As a result of the incident, the victim sustained injuries.
