GoldCorp-Antam deal
PERTH (Reuter): Australia's largest gold refiner, Gold Corporation, said on Thursday it concluded an equipment supply and technical consultancy agreement to upgrade PT Aneka Tambang's (Antam) Logam Mulia precious metals refinery in Jakarta.
The contract will enable the state-owned Aneka Tambang to upgrade the technical and production capabilities of the Logam Mulia gold and silver refinery, GoldCorp said.
The two companies also signed a letter of intent to examine opportunities to develop joint trading and manufacturing activities in Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region.
Aneka Tambang is a diversified mining group which plans to seek a public listing later this year, GoldCorp said.
Logam Mulia is the only precious metals refiner in Indonesia. GoldCorp is owned by the Western Australian state government.
The value of the deal was unstated.
