Gold Trading Access Extended to Weekends
Gold price movements are not only influenced by market activity on weekdays. Economic data, geopolitical developments, and global news emerging outside traditional trading hours can also affect market sentiment and drive price changes.
These conditions have prompted trading industry players to develop instruments that provide traders with greater flexibility to respond to market dynamics. One such move has been made by XM through the launch of GOLD24-7, a gold trading instrument that provides access to trading seven days a week, including weekends.
Unlike traditional gold CFDs, which generally follow market trading hours, GOLD24-7 allows traders to trade gold on Saturdays and Sundays. As a result, traders do not have to wait for the market to open on Monday to respond to developments that occur over the weekend.
XM Co-CEO Stavri Morti said the flow of information and market sentiment continues even when trading activity generally enters the weekend. “The market does not stop producing news just because it is the weekend. Economic data, geopolitical developments, and various important news can affect market sentiment during the weekend,” he said.
According to Morti, GOLD24-7 is intended to provide clients with greater flexibility to respond to market developments directly without having to wait until the start of the week.
The launch of the instrument is part of XM’s strategy to expand its product offering while developing a trading experience that adapts to changing market conditions and client needs.
Gold is one of the instruments attracting significant attention amid changing global economic and geopolitical conditions. The price movement of the commodity can increase when markets face uncertainty, so the need for trading access and flexibility is also a concern for market participants.
XM says it has more than 15 years of experience in gold trading. That position was further strengthened in early 2026 when gold market volatility reached historic levels.
Amid these conditions, XM stated that it continues to provide a trading experience with execution quality aimed at maintaining smooth transactions, including without requotes and without order rejections.
The presence of GOLD24-7 extends that access beyond traditional gold trading hours. The instrument is currently available to all XM clients. To access the instrument, traders can open an XM account and trade gold throughout the week, including on weekends.
XM is an international trading and investment company serving more than 20 million clients in more than 190 countries. The company also states that it holds a number of international licences and provides services for retail traders, investors, and affiliates.
