Gold Prices Sparkle Again After US-Iran Peace Deal

Global gold prices surged again after a peace agreement between the United States (US) and Iran. Gold prices rose 2% on Monday (15/6) after US and Iranian officials said they had reached a preliminary agreement to end their conflict. Spot gold prices rose 2% to US$4,304.11 per troy ounce, reaching their highest level since 9 June. Meanwhile, US gold futures contracts for August delivery rose 2% to US$4,325.20. “The peace agreement between the US and Iran and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz have made gold sparkle again, and it is estimated that this month it will head towards US$4,875 per troy ounce,” said currency and commodity analyst Ibrahim Assuaibi in a statement on Monday (15/6). Meanwhile, the price of Antam gold today, Monday 15 June 2026, recorded a significant increase. Currently, the price of Antam gold is at Rp2,729,000 per gram, up from the previous position of Rp2,711,000 per gram. Along with the announcement, Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz had been reopened and the United States would lift its maritime blockade. The announcement came shortly after Pakistan, acting as mediator, said the two warring parties had reached common ground. “The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now done. Congratulations to everyone!,” Trump said via his social media network, Truth Social. “I hereby fully authorise the opening of the Strait of Hormuz at no cost, and, simultaneously with this, authorise the immediate removal of the United States Navy blockade.
