Gold Prices Poised to Rise Next Week, Here's the Analysis
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Global gold and precious metal prices are predicted to continue fluctuating, influenced by various global sentiments. Next week, gold prices are estimated to move in the range of Rp 2.8 million to Rp 2.98 million per gram.
Currency and commodity analyst Ibrahim Assuaibi stated that at the close of trading this weekend, global gold prices stood at $4,708 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, precious metal prices were at Rp 2.845 million per gram.
He predicted that if gold prices fall, the first support level for global gold would be $4,651 per troy ounce, and for precious metals Rp 2.8 million per gram. The second support level for global gold is $4,520 per troy ounce and for precious metals Rp 2.79 million per gram.
“If gold prices rise, it is likely to reach the first resistance level of $4,779 per troy ounce, and for precious metals Rp 2.865 million per gram. Then, if it rises further, the second resistance is at $4,232 per troy ounce, and for precious metals Rp 2.98 million per gram,” said Ibrahim in a statement to reporters on Sunday (26/4/2026).
This prediction aligns with projections of a strengthening US dollar index and global oil prices. The US dollar index closed this weekend at 96.60. According to predictions for next week, the resistance level for the US dollar index is 102.50.
As for global oil prices, Ibrahim predicts crude oil at $82.60 per barrel and it could rise towards $107.4 per barrel.
Four Factors
Ibrahim believes there are several factors influencing the fluctuating gold price movements. The same applies to global oil prices and the US dollar index. These factors include geopolitics in the Middle East, US politics, US Federal Reserve policies, and demand and supply factors.
“Regarding geopolitics, it is likely that next week the US wants to hold another meeting between the US and Iran in Pakistan. Although Trump himself said he is ready to destroy Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz, on the other hand Trump also said he would implement a permanent ceasefire with Iran,” said Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Iran itself does not want to hold the meeting because the US violated the ceasefire by seizing an Iranian tanker. Israel is also continuing attacks on southern Lebanon.
“This creates its own tension. Iran itself has said it is ready for war, meaning next week or the end of April will be quite crucial,” he explained.
