REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Gold prices are currently trading below the Rp 3 million per gram level in line with global geopolitical and geo-economic dynamics. Next week, gold prices are predicted to move in the range of Rp 2.75 million to Rp 2.9 million per gram.

The global gold price closed at 4,616 USD per troy ounce at the end of this week’s trading. Meanwhile, the price of precious metals closed at Rp 2.79 million per gram.

Currency and commodity analyst Ibrahim Assuibi predicts that if the global gold price corrects, its support level will be at 4,520 USD per troy ounce. The second support level, if prices weaken, will be at 4,389 USD per troy ounce.

If it experiences a correction, the precious metals price is predicted to move at the Rp 2.78 million per gram level as the first support. Meanwhile, the second support level is at Rp 2.75 million per gram.

On the other hand, if gold prices strengthen, the first resistance level is at 4,720 USD per troy ounce and the second resistance at 4,851 USD per troy ounce. The precious metals price is projected to head towards Rp 2.86 million per gram as the first resistance level and Rp 2.9 million per gram as the second resistance.

“So, when precious metals prices fall, it’s likely that next week they will be at a minimum of Rp 2.75 million per gram. Then, if they strengthen, a maximum of Rp 2.9 million per gram. So there’s a difference of Rp 150,000 per gram. That’s the difference from the low support and high resistance,” said Ibrahim in a statement to reporters on Sunday (10/5/2026).

In addition, he explained that the US dollar index prediction for next week is likely to be traded at the 97.10 level, while its resistance is at 100.60. Thus, there are indications that the US dollar will strengthen.

For crude oil prices, he predicts that WTI crude oil next week will be traded at a support level of 90 USD per barrel and resistance at 113 USD per barrel.
