Tips for Buying and Storing Gold
After learning about today’s gold price summary in Yogyakarta, it wouldn’t hurt to understand more closely the tips for buying and storing gold. Referencing the official Logam Mulia and Galeri 24 websites, here are some tips for buying and storing gold that can be followed:
- Buy from Trusted Places
The first tip for buying gold to consider is purchasing from trusted places. There are various official and trustworthy gold boutiques for the public to choose from when making gold purchase transactions. This is done to minimise the risk of buying fake gold sold by irresponsible parties.
- Check Authenticity
Not only buying from trusted places, there is another tip that needs to be applied. The tip in question is checking its authenticity. The method is very easy and can be done online.
If the gold purchased is Antam, the QR Code on its packaging can be scanned via the CertiCard app. UBS gold also has similar technology by scanning the QR Code through the UBS Gold app.
- Ensure Packaging is in Good Condition
Before officially making a gold purchase transaction, check the gold packaging first. If you find damaged packaging, don’t hesitate to inform the staff at the place of purchase. However, gold packaging available at trusted places is usually in good condition and rarely damaged.
- Store in a Safe Place
It is then important to store gold in a safe place. Gold storage requires extra attention. The reason is that gold stored properly tends to maintain its quality.
At least there are two things that can be done to store gold well. First, do not store it in damp or watery places, and second, do not stack it with other heavy objects.
- Do Not Damage the Gold Packaging
Another important tip for buying gold is not to damage the gold packaging. Why is that? Certain types of gold packaging are equipped with technology in the form of QR codes.
As previously explained, QR Codes are needed to check gold authenticity. If the gold packaging is damaged, there is a concern that the QR Code cannot be read, potentially leading to a lower gold price when sold back.
This is a brief update on today’s gold prices on Monday, 4 May 2026. Hopefully useful!
