REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Currency and commodity expert Ibrahim Assuaibi predicts that the price of gold, or precious metals, will not break the Rp 3 million per gram level next week (30/3/2026-4/4/2026). However, that level is projected to be reached the following week (6/4/2026-11/4/2026), in line with the ongoing wars in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

It is recorded that the global gold price closed at $4,495 per troy ounce on Saturday morning (28/3/2026), while the precious metal price closed at Rp 2.837 million per gram. Ibrahim said that this means the precious metal price targeted at Rp 2.8 million per gram this week was not achieved.

He stated that if the gold price corrects, on Monday (30/3/2026) it is predicted to reach $4,363 per troy ounce and the precious metal price at Rp 2.815 million per gram. Meanwhile, if it moves in a downward trend, next week the global gold price is likely to reach $4,138 per troy ounce and the precious metal price will break below Rp 2.8 million per gram, precisely Rp 2.75 million per gram.

On the other hand, if the gold price rises next week, the first resistance point for the global gold price will touch $4,666 per troy ounce, while the precious metal price will be at Rp 2.855 million per gram. The second resistance point for the global gold price is $4,912 per troy ounce, and the precious metal price will reach Rp 2.92 million per gram.

“So there is a high likelihood that next week it won’t reach the $5,000 per troy ounce level. And the precious metal won’t touch Rp 3 million per gram either,” Ibrahim explained in a statement to reporters on Sunday (29/3/2026).

“What will happen is in the following week. The precious metal is likely to return to Rp 3 million per gram,” he continued.

Thus, Ibrahim emphasised that global gold and precious metal prices are predicted to continue rising in the future. According to him, investing in that safe-haven asset remains the right choice for the public.

“So, for the public who have investments, stay calm, no need to worry. Gold prices are still rising. My target for this year remains $6,000 per troy ounce, and I’m still optimistic about the precious metal at Rp 4 million per gram. It’s just a matter of time,” he clarified.
