REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The app-based ride-hailing platform Gojek will scrap the GoRide Hemat subscription programme for its driver partners. The decision is part of the company’s move to align with President Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026 concerning driver-partner income deductions. “Gojek will discontinue the subscription scheme for driver partners,” said Hans Patuwo, CEO of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. Moreover, the move also follows the company’s assessment of the GoRide Hemat programme, which has been trialled since November 2025 and expanded across various regions of Indonesia since February 2026. Hans stated that the regular GoRide service remains the main choice for customers compared with GoRide Hemat. “After three months of operation since February 2026, we conducted an in-depth study and found that the subscription scheme needs a better balance for the welfare of driver partners,” he said. “Therefore, we have decided to discontinue the subscription programme effective in the near future,” Hans added. Further, Hans said that GoRide Hemat will subsequently follow the company’s revenue-sharing deduction from drivers of the ride-hailing app to eight per cent. “The impact of this policy, particularly for GoRide Hemat, will be an extremely limited adjustment to consumer prices. We will ensure this adjustment is measured and maintains affordability for the public,” he added.
