Gojek Cuts Platform Share to 8%, Drivers to Earn 92% of Each Ride
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk, via the Gojek service, has adjusted the revenue-sharing scheme for online motorcycle taxi partners (ojol). Under the new rule, drivers will receive 92% of each GoRide trip, while the platform’s cut will be 8%.
The policy was announced by Chief Executive Officer Hans Patuwo as a sign of support for Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers, signed by President Prabowo Subianto.
“We welcome the government’s policy direction to create a fairer and more sustainable digital transport ecosystem,” Hans said at a press conference at GoTo’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
Hans emphasised that Gojek will implement the government’s directions related to the new income sharing for online transport drivers. “First, Gojek will implement the President’s directions regarding Perpres No. 27 of 2026. We are committed to adjusting the revenue-sharing scheme so that 92 per cent of every GoRide journey will be the driver’s entitlement. This is a fairly big change for us,” he said.
He acknowledged that the policy will reduce Gojek’s revenue from the GoRide service. Nevertheless, Gojek is taking this step as a long‑term investment. “Gojek’s revenue from the GoRide service, which has long been known by the name Gojek, will decrease. However, we are doing it with full conviction that this is the right thing to do and as a long-term investment for a healthier and better future for all parties,” he asserted.
On the other hand, Gojek assured consumers that fares would not change, particularly for the GoRide regular service, which is currently the most-used service. “There are two GoRide services. The most used service at present is GoRide regular. Therefore we will ensure there is no change in the price paid by consumers for the GoRide regular service,” he explained.
According to him, the move is designed to keep order volumes steady so that total income for driver partners can grow sustainably. “With this, we hope consumer orders will remain steady and sustainable, and total income for driver partners can also improve,” he added.
Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto announced he had signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers during the May Day celebrations on 1 May. The regulation provides protections for online transport drivers, from work accident insurance to a larger share of income for drivers. “I have signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers. As I previously said, they must be given work accident insurance, BPJS Kesehatan, health insurance,” Prabowo said. “Also, the income share from 80% for drivers to a minimum of 92% for drivers,” he continued.

Gojek also introduced a partner driver appreciation programme with a scheme comprising four Partner Protection & Welfare Supports, and seven new Partner Appreciation Programmes.
The Four Partners Protection & Welfare Supports include BPJS Kesehatan & BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Mitra Swadaya Enterprises, Mitra Job Exchange, and a Hari Raya Bonus.
The seven new Partner Appreciation Programmes include Mitra Legend, Mitra Pioneers, Beasiswa Sarjana, School Supplies Package, Umrah, Safe & Comfortable Resting Place, and Free Open Space.
