PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo) will begin applying an 8% commission rate for its motorcycle taxi (ojol) passenger transport services starting 1 July 2026. The policy aligns with a new regulation signed by President Prabowo Subianto concerning the protection of online transport workers.

Wakil Direktur Utama GoTo Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo stated the company supports the government’s efforts to improve the welfare of driver partners. She explained that, effective 1 July 2026, Gojek will implement the 8% commission for its two-wheeled passenger transport service, known as GoRide. The policy will take effect next week.

“So effective from 1 July 2026, GoTo Gojek Indonesia will implement an 8% commission for online motorcycle taxi passenger transport services, which at Gojek we often call GoRide,” Catherine said during a press conference at the Nusantara III Building, parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

Previously, during Labour Day commemorations on 1 May 2026, President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026 concerning the Protection of Online Transport Workers. One provision stipulates that the commission deducted by online motorcycle taxi applications is now set at 8%, meaning drivers will receive a minimum of 92% of earnings, an increase from the previous 80%.

“I have signed Presidential Regulation Number 27 concerning the Protection of Online Transport Workers. As I mentioned earlier, they must be provided with workplace accident insurance, BPJS Kesehatan, and health insurance,” Prabowo said at the time. “Also, the income share for drivers has been increased from 80% to a minimum of 92%,” he added.
