Gojek axed GoRide Hemat subscription programme for driver partners
Three months into operation (since February 2026), Gojek conducted an in-depth review and found that the GoRide Hemat subscription scheme required a better balance for the welfare of driver partners.
Jakarta – The ride-hailing platform Gojek will discontinue the GoRide Hemat subscription programme for driver partners.
‘Gojek will discontinue the subscription scheme for driver partners,’ said Hans Patuwo, Chief Executive Officer of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), at a press briefing in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Hans said the decision is part of the company’s effort to align with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026 concerning the deduction of driver income.
In addition, the move is a continuation of the company’s review of the GoRide Hemat programme, which had been trialled since November 2025 and expanded to various regions in Indonesia since February 2026.
‘After operating for three months (since February 2026), we conducted an in-depth review and found that the subscription scheme needs a better balance for the welfare of driver partners,’ he said.
‘Therefore, we have decided to discontinue the subscription programme, effective in the near future,’ he added.
Furthermore, Hans said the GoRide Hemat service will subsequently follow the income deduction cut taken by the app company from ride-hailing drivers to eight per cent.
He noted the company understands that even minor price increases can be felt by customers.
However, Hans affirmed that the adjustment is expected to provide immediate benefits and safeguard the welfare of driver partners.
Moreover, he confirmed there will be no price increase for consumers in the regular GoRide service.
‘So we also hope to provide stability and a sense of corporate responsibility towards our customers,’ he added.
