As the afternoon iftar time approached on Thursday, 12 March, the atmosphere at the West Bandung Regency PDIP branch secretariat office was notably more animated than usual, with party cadres, organisational representatives, and local residents gathering for the occasion.

Alongside informal conversation and iftar preparations, hundreds of Eid hamper packages were readied for distribution. The activity, which began at 16:00 local time, resulted from a collaboration between GNTI (Gerakan Tani Nelayan Indonesia/Indonesian Peasants and Fishermen Movement) West Java and the West Bandung Regency PDIP branch.

Beyond serving as a charity initiative during the holy month of Ramadan, the event also functioned as a joint iftar gathering and a platform for party structural consolidation. The hamper packages were distributed to local community members, district-level party administrators (PAC), party branches, and allied organisations that had been active in social and political activities within the region.

“Charitable activities such as this represent a demonstration of concern for those who have been involved in social and political efforts at the grassroots level,” said Pamriadi, chairman of GNTI West Java, in a statement on Friday, 13 March 2026.

He described the activity as a form of ‘kadeudeuh’, a Sundanese expression denoting affection and care for others. According to him, such concern should be given to those who have worked to advance the interests of both the community and the party.

In the same opportunity, Pamriadi also addressed the importance of a focus on power in party political work. He stated that political parties need not hesitate to target power as an instrument for advancing the interests of the community. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of West Bandung Regency PDIP chairman Tuti Turimayanti, the party had opportunities to expand its influence across various levels of authority.

Meanwhile, Tuti expressed appreciation to several development figures in West Bandung who had provided moral support and counsel throughout her political journey. Tuti, who also serves as a member of the West Java provincial legislature, referred to the role of these figures as an essential part of the political learning process she had undergone.

In her remarks, Tuti took time to greet the party administrators and allied organisational representatives present. She occasionally engaged directly with activity participants, creating an open atmosphere amid the consolidation-oriented agenda.

She added that the distribution of Eid hampers was not limited to that single event. Prior to the gathering, she had already distributed similar assistance to the community. In the coming days, she also plans to continue visiting several districts across West Bandung Regency.

These areas form part of her electoral constituency and the operational coverage of the party organisation she leads. For Tuti, the activity represents a simple way to maintain closeness with the community.

As iftar time approached, the event concluded with a collective prayer. The hamper packages gradually changed hands, moving from organising committee tables to their recipients. Within the warm atmosphere of Ramadan, the activity became more than a simple distribution of aid; it served as a space for meeting, strengthening bonds, and reinforcing relationships between the party, its cadres, and the community.
