Gowa Makassar Tourism Development Tbk (GMTD), one of the housing developers in Makassar, formally handed over the Prasarana, Sarana, dan Utilitas (PSU) assets for seven housing clusters to the Makassar City Government. Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin stressed that the city government continues to pursue policy measures regarding PSU handovers by all housing developers in the city. ‘The Makassar City Government policy continues to coordinate that all developers in Makassar must hand over PSU upfront, not behind as before,’ he said in Makassar on Friday. This step aims not only to safeguard multi-trillion rupiah assets but also to ensure the government has full authority to improve basic public services in housing areas, from road repairs, drainage, lighting, to environmental management. He noted that the PSU assets’ value handed over would be much higher if valued at market prices. However, in evaluating state assets, the valuation is based on Nilai Jual Objek Pajak (NJOP). ‘GMTD has seven clusters and five locations spanning about 21.3 hectares. The valuation indeed uses NJOP. If not using NJOP, the value could be double,’ he said. He added that, besides being a company obligation under law, the PSU handover is also GMTD’s support for the city government’s development program and asset governance. He concluded that once the PSU is officially handed over to the local government, developers hope the housing area can be managed jointly by the government and the community. ‘We as developers are grateful that everything has been handed over. In the future, we will of course maintain it together, by both the local government and residents,’ he said.
