As the world grows increasingly divided, 15 leading global companies from 10 countries have come together to serve customers worldwide.

Munich (ANTARA/PRNewswire) — Today at the Munich Security Conference, 15 companies from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America announced the launch of the Trusted Tech Alliance (TTA). The Trusted Tech Alliance is a group of like-minded global technology providers collaborating across borders based on a set of shared principles for a trusted technology stack — from connectivity, cloud computing infrastructure and semiconductors to software and AI.

These principles are designed to ensure that, regardless of supplier nationality, all companies in the Alliance will adhere to shared commitments on transparency, security and data protection that build trust and deliver the benefits of technology to people worldwide.

In response to the unprecedented pace of technological change and an increasingly complex environment, countries and customers are seeking greater reliability and resilience from technology providers and the services they deliver. At the same time, scepticism persists about digital technology and its potential negative impact on individuals and society. In this environment, it is essential that companies across the technology stack unite to address these concerns.

By establishing attributes of trusted technology and a set of operational principles to which signatories will adhere, TTA members are committed to working with governments and customers to ensure that the benefits of new technologies can enhance broader public trust whilst driving job creation and economic growth.

The Trusted Tech Alliance brings together leading companies committed to a clear and verifiable set of shared practices and principles demonstrating how technology can be secure, reliable and responsibly operated regardless of where it is made or deployed.

The signatories to the Trusted Tech Alliance are: Anthropic, AWS, Cassava Technologies, Cohere, Ericsson, Google Cloud, Hanwha, Jio Platforms, Microsoft, Nokia, Nscale, NTT, Rapidus, Saab and SAP.

Participating companies have agreed to five specific principles that define what it means to develop, deploy, operate and collaborate as trusted global technology providers:

  1. Transparent Corporate Governance and Ethical Conduct
  2. Operational Transparency, Secure Development and Independent Assessment
  3. Robust Supply Chain and Security Oversight
  4. An Open, Cooperative, Inclusive and Resilient Digital Ecosystem
  5. Respect for the Rule of Law and Data Protection

These commitments require all companies to maintain strong corporate governance and ethical conduct, create technology securely and manage it responsibly throughout its lifecycle, and employ binding security assurances and quality guarantees in contracts with suppliers. The commitments require suppliers to comply with robust global security standards and support an open, cooperative digital environment that fosters innovation.

The TTA will continue to develop a community of global providers dedicated to advancing a trusted, interoperable and open technology stack, and to shaping shared approaches that support national and international efforts to strengthen sovereignty, resilience and competitiveness.

“In an era of rapid technological change, collaboration among like-minded industry players is essential to enhancing customer trust and realising the full benefits of technology for economies and societies. We are joining the Trusted Tech Alliance to strengthen our unwavering commitment to providing trusted, secure and resilient technology for customers,” said David Zapolsky, Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer at Amazon.

“As AI systems become increasingly sophisticated — driving innovation, accelerating economic growth and transforming national security — the United States and its allies and partners must ensure that the most widely used models around the world are always safe, reliable, trustworthy and developed transparently. Anthropic is proud to join the Trusted Tech Alliance and support American leadership in AI and advance shared principles with like-minded partners to deliver trustworthy AI,” said Sarah Heck, Head of External Affairs at Anthropic.

“Amidst unprecedented advances in the adoption of new technologies worldwide, Cassava Technologies is proud to be a founding member of the Trusted Tech Alliance. I believe that responsible leadership and global collaboration will ensure that technology always supports human progress and inclusive economic development, which is vital for young people and future generations,” said Strive Masiyiwa, Founder and Executive Chairman of Cassava Technologies.

“Without collaboration, no single company or country can create a secure and trusted digital stack. Rather, trust and security can only be achieved together. That is why, together with like-minded industry peers, we are launching the Trusted Tech Alliance — an initiative committed to verifiable trust practices across the digital ecosystem,” said Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson.

“Google Cloud has a longstanding commitment to supporting choice, trust and sovereignty embedded in our technology today. Through the Trusted Tech Alliance, we want to champion the principles we have upheld: Supporting customer choice and providing a portfolio of solutions backed by technical oversight and local partnerships to meet stringent sovereignty requirements and regional standards,” said Marcus Jadotte, Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google Cloud.

“Trust will play a critical role in advancing technology to ensure it meets society’s most pressing needs. From energy security and sovereign defence to advanced manufacturing, we believe that trusted ecosystems are the key to securing societies, strengthening industries and driving future resilience,” said Dong Kwan (DK) Kim, Vice Chairman of Hanwha Group.

“Trusted, secure and transparent technology is essential to driving inclusive digital growth at a global level. Jio Platforms proudly joins the Trusted Tech Alliance to advance common standards and verifiable practices across the technology stack. Through collaboration with global partners, we aim to strengthen resilience, expand digital opportunities and build long-term trust in connectivity, cloud computing and next-generation AI systems,” said Kiran Thomas, CEO of Jio Platforms.

“In today’s geopolitical environment, it is essential for like-minded companies to work together to protect security and advance high global standards to maintain trust in technology across nations,” said Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft. “The Trusted Tech Alliance was created not based on the nationality of the service provider, but on a shared commitment to customers. The Trusted Tech Alliance brings together leading companies with clear and verifiable principles proving that technology can be responsibly operated, secure and reliable wherever it is deployed.”

“AI is accelerating change across the technology stack and raising the bar for trust. Critical networks and infrastructure must be designed to be secure, resilient and interoperable. We are joining industry partners through the Trusted Tech Alliance to strengthen these foundations as intelligence scales worldwide,” said Justin Hotard, President and CEO of Nokia.

“AI infrastructure is the foundation of innovation, and that foundation must be trusted and secure. Customers must have absolute confidence in where their data resides, how it is protected and who governs the systems powering their AI. Nscale’s sovereign AI infrastructure is purpose-built to provide that assurance, combining rigorous performance and security, transparency and local control. We are proud to partner with companies worldwide in advancing AI in a way that is safe, trusted and built for long-term resilience,” said Josh Payne, Founder and CEO of Nscale.

“No matter how superior technologies such as AI and cybersecurity on connected networks may be, diverse discourse is essential for societal acceptance. Most importantly, all trusted companies sharing similar values and moral principles can collaborate closely to advance their initiatives,” said Jun Sawada, Executive Chairman of NTT.

“Rapidus is proud to join the Trusted Tech Alliance as we recognise the importance of a trusted global technology ecosystem. We are fully aligned with all of the Alliance’s principles and committed to contributing to transparency, security, open innovation and resilient supply chains through collaboration with like-minded global partners,” said Dr Atsuyoshi Koike, CEO of Rapidus Corporation.

“We are proud to join the Trusted Tech Alliance to support secure and reliable digital infrastructure. Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to enhanced digital security and drive innovation through international collaboration. In an era of rapid digital transformation, this kind of cooperation is a good and important step towards achieving a safer and more competitive digital future,” said Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.

“Trust and global technology collaboration remain essential for competitive economies. Amid today’s growing data sensitivities and regulations, where trust and sovereignty are increasingly intertwined, trust must be built diligently over time. SAP is committed to developing trustworthy and reliable environments through open ecosystems, transparent security standards and responsible innovation,” said Dominik Asam, Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board at SAP.
