Global Sumud Flotilla Volunteers to Be Taken to Ketziot Prison
The Global Sumud Flotilla Committee said the participants of the Global Sumud Armada who were intercepted by Israel could be taken to Ketziot Prison. Consular authorities are reported to be preparing to accompany international activists and journalists held by Israel, including from Indonesia. In a statement released by the flotilla committee, latest information from the consulate indicated that the Israeli government would begin arranging consular assistance visits after the volunteers arrived at Ashdod Port and were moved to Ketziot Prison. Ashdod Port is said to be the initial processing location for the activists before they are taken to Ketziot Prison, the detention facility long known as a place of detention for Palestinians and security detainees. “The latest information received by the consul directly from Israeli authorities is that tomorrow, after they arrive in Ashdod, processed, and moved to Ketziot, consular assistance visits will begin to be arranged,” said the Global Sumud Flotilla committee in a statement, early Wednesday or Tuesday night Palestinian time. According to the Global Sumud committee this is what happened in the two major missions last year. This is also a scenario that has been prepared by participants, lawyers, and their support teams. “Participants will land within hours at Ashdod port and our lawyers will be there to confirm their arrival.” “Some participants are said to be processed through the means system; transfer will take several hours.” Earlier, Israeli forces intercepted dozens of Global Sumud Flotilla ships attempting to breach Gaza blockade to deliver humanitarian aid since Monday (18/5/2026). A number of activists from various countries were reported detained in the operation.
