Global Logistics Network Expands, Opening Export Opportunities for MSMEs
Public demand for international delivery services continues to rise in line with the growth of cross-border trade and the increasing number of Indonesian businesses reaching export markets. This trend is pushing logistics companies to expand their international networks to accommodate the needs of customers, from individuals to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
One such move has been made by J&T Express, which has expanded its J&T International service. Previously, the service only covered deliveries to seven countries, but it now reaches more than 60 countries across various regions, including Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, Europe, and the United States.
The company recorded that its international shipping volume has continued to grow each year, more than doubling in 2025 compared to the previous year. This increase was accompanied by rising customer demand for more diverse delivery destinations, reflecting the growing need among the public and business operators to reach global markets.
The service expansion aligns with the ongoing trend of cross-border trade, particularly from the MSME sector. According to data from the Ministry of Trade, MSME export activity increased from 16.9 percent in 2024 to 19 percent in 2025. This indicates that more business operators require logistics support to reach overseas buyers more easily.
J&T Express Marketing Director Erick said the strengthening of the international network is a strategic move to respond to an increasingly connected global market. He noted that the expansion is supported by the company’s operational presence in 13 countries across three continents.
“As J&T Express operations are now available in 13 countries across three continents, we have a stronger network capability to expand international services from Indonesia. This expansion allows us to provide wider and more competitive delivery access, while supporting Indonesian businesses to seize global market opportunities more easily,” Erick said in an official statement on Tuesday.
Through this expansion, customers can now send goods to various destinations in Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, as well as East Asian countries like Japan, South Korea, and China. The service also covers Australia and New Zealand, several countries in the Middle East and Africa, various European countries including the Netherlands, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, as well as the United States.
The network expansion is accompanied by more competitive service offerings. J&T International offers shipping rates starting from Rp50,000 per kilogram to Malaysia, Rp60,000 per kilogram to Singapore, Rp370,000 per kilogram to the Netherlands, and up to Rp580,000 per kilogram to the United States.
In addition to competitive rates, the company applies a customs fee scheme based on actual invoices from the relevant authorities, ensuring transparent cost calculations for customers. All deliveries are also supported by door-to-door services, meaning packages are delivered directly to the recipient’s address in the destination country.
To simplify the cross-border shipping process, customers can access the service through J&T Drop Points, J&T Collection Points, and J&T Signature Points located across various regions in Indonesia. Besides accepting packages, staff also assist with the verification process, goods inspection, and ensuring the completeness of required documents, making it easier for customers, including MSMEs who are new to exporting, to send international shipments.
Through the expansion of J&T International services, the company hopes to open wider logistics access to global markets for the public and business operators. With cross-border trade activities on the rise, international logistics networks are considered a key factor in strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the export market while supporting more MSMEs to penetrate international markets.
