Global Investors Eye Indonesia Through Danantara, Says Rosan
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and representatives from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) officially visited the office of BPI Danantara in Jakarta. Tony met directly with Danantara CEO and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani. The meeting discussed various strategic cooperation opportunities to support the transformation of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) through strengthening governance, developing strategic sectors, and enhancing Indonesia’s global competitiveness. Discussions also covered potential collaboration in economic zone development, accelerating industrial downstreaming, infrastructure development, digital transformation, and institutional capacity building by leveraging the global experience and networks of the Tony Blair Institute.
Rosan stated that the high investor interest conveyed by Tony Blair during the visit confirms that Indonesia is on the main radar of global investors. He noted that Danantara is ready to serve as a bridge for international capital to enter effectively, with market sentiment remaining very positive towards the government’s measures. According to Rosan, Tony Blair assessed that the government’s economic policies, particularly the establishment of Danantara, are increasingly viewed as a credible main entry point for international investors to inject capital. This interest confirms that Indonesia remains a highly promising investment destination globally.
Rosan emphasised that Danantara is a strategic partner sought after by many foreign investors, possessing a portfolio and projects that are very attractive to foreign capital. He added that the process would be accelerated to ensure the impact is felt by the public, and that this is just the beginning, with more investors expected to follow. Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, stressed that collaboration with global partners is crucial to accelerating the transformation of state-owned enterprises. He noted that opening space for collaboration with global partners like the Tony Blair Institute allows for the adaptation of best practices to optimise results and provide added value for Indonesia.
