Global Geopolitical Dynamics: Student Elements Call for Unity

An important call to maintain unity and strengthen the strategic role of students amid global geopolitical dynamics emerged as the conclusion of a national discussion titled “Nurturing Unity, Safeguarding Indonesia: The Voice of Youth Amid Global Crises”. The forum brought together various student elements from across organisations. Coordinator of the Central Executive Body of Nusantara Students (BEM Nusantara), Muhammad Sardani, stated that the challenges of the digital era, filled with flows of not always accurate information, require students to act as conveyors of correct information and balancers within society. “We are not only conveyors of voices, but we must also ensure that the information we bring is valid and accountable,” said Sardani in a press release in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026). According to Sardani, it is important for students to rebuild public trust through real contributions. “Students must be present as friends to society, not just critics, but also part of the solution,” he said. Treasurer General of the National Presidium of Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education (PTNU), Tirta Gangga Listiawan, stated that students must be able to understand the substance of issues, rather than merely following viral currents. “Students must understand the position of the Constitution as the basic norm,” he said.
