Global Digital Economy Conference 2026 to Present a 'Digital Feast'

The Global Digital Economy Conference 2026 will be held from 2 to 5 July. Under the theme ‘Building a Digital-Friendly City – Boundless Digital Intelligence’, the conference will focus on core issues in key areas such as artificial intelligence, digital governance, and data elements. With nearly 40 high-level delegations and more than 1,000 distinguished guests from around the world, the conference aims to promote the sharing of digital innovation achievements and mutual trust in digital governance, presenting a brand-new digital feast to a global audience. The conference has been upgraded to a ‘1+1+N’ framework, consisting of one opening ceremony, one main forum – the Global Dialogue on Building a Digital-Friendly City – and N thematic forums, along with a series of year-round activities. During the main session, more than 50 thematic forums will be held, closely focusing on two core tracks: ‘Industrial Digitalisation’ and ‘AI+’. These forums will cover key areas across the entire chain, including international digital trade and economy, digital talent development, data element marketisation, global digital governance, and future pioneering industries, creating an integrated exchange platform encompassing policy, technology, industry, and capital. The conference will launch a ‘first-launch and debut’ platform, focusing on areas such as large AI models, robotics, and intelligent manufacturing. This platform will showcase a number of new technologies and products from home and abroad, including world models, humanoid robots, and self-developed full-stack simulation technologies, to promote the global application of advanced technologies. Concurrently, the conference will feature a Digital Economy Experience Week, creating a digital ‘trendy’ themed market in Beijing’s Longfu Temple area, using digital twin technology to integrate online and offline consumption scenarios. Special digital cultural tourism routes such as the ‘Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Tour’ and ‘Chaoyang Digital Intelligence Culture-Sports Integration Tour’ have been planned, allowing the public to experience the achievements of the digital economy firsthand. Additionally, the conference will include special events such as the AIGC for Future Global Challenge and the Digital Economy Industry Exhibition, offering an immersive experience combining conferences, exhibitions, competitions, and performances. Liu Weiliang, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, stated that this year’s conference is committed to enhancing its international presence and global resource connectivity, striving to promote deeper and broader international cooperation with a more open attitude and more pragmatic measures.
