Glimpse of 'Luxury Flats': Prabowo's Gift to Senen Railway Track Residents

The Senen housing complex, built on a 1.61-hectare plot of land, is now ready to be used as a residence for the community. The area, which holds a Right to Build (Hak Guna Bangunan or HGB) title under the name of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), has 324 residential units equipped with various supporting facilities to enhance residents’ comfort.

Facilities available at the Senen Housing complex include toilets, a prayer room (mushola), a communal kitchen, communal rooms, a children’s playground, and a parking area. The presence of these facilities is expected not only to meet the basic needs of the residents but also to support social activities and improve the quality of life for the community who will live there.

Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait stated that the Senen Housing is ready for use and will be part of a report to the President. This project is a form of government support in the programme for organising settlement areas as well as relocating residents who previously lived along the railway tracks.

The construction of Senen Housing is the result of collaboration between various parties involved in providing housing for the community. The project, which began on 3 April 2026, was completed ahead of the target set for 15 June 2026, demonstrating the effectiveness of synergy among stakeholders in accelerating the provision of safe and decent housing.

In addition to ensuring the physical readiness of the buildings, the government is also emphasising the importance of area management and community empowerment so that Senen Housing can develop into a comfortable, safe, and productive environment. In the initial phase of its use, residents will not be charged housing or utility fees to assist with the adaptation process. Meanwhile, the registration of prospective residents has been carried out, and the placement of residents will take place in stages according to mechanisms prepared by the government and relevant parties.
