Given Until 10 August, BGN Threatens to Shut SPPG Without Hygiene Certificates

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has threatened to shut down nutritional fulfilment service units (SPPG) that have yet to obtain a hygiene sanitation eligibility certificate (SLHS). All SPPG currently in operation have been given until 10 August 2026 to secure the SLHS.

BGN Head Sudaryono acknowledged that some SPPG are still operating without the SLHS despite running the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. These kitchens have been given a deadline of 10 August to obtain the certificate if they wish to continue operating.

“We are giving them time to process their SLHS until the 10th, and this SLHS is not a matter of whether it is good, sufficient, or not. It is between 0 or 1. Do you meet the SLHS requirements or not? If not, it’s a permanent closure,” he said at the Ministry of Health on Wednesday (5/8/2026).

He stressed that the BGN will no longer tolerate SPPG operating without the SLHS. The certificate is an absolute requirement for kitchens to operate. Without it, a kitchen simply does not meet the standards to run the MBG programme.

“So if we give them a chance, it is only until the 10th. This has been running for a few days now, until the 10th deadline. If the SLHS is not fulfilled, it is not just an administrative requirement, it is not. It is an absolute requirement,” he said.
