Given a Severe Reprimand, Achmad Syahri Could Be Dismissed as a Member of the Jember DPRD if He Commits Further Violations

The Honorary Council of the Gerindra Party’s Central Executive Board has issued a severe and final reprimand to Achmad Syahri As Sidiqi, a member of the Gerindra faction in the Jember DPRD, due to the “viral” case of him smoking and playing games on his phone during a Jember DPRD meeting on stunting.

Fikrah Auliaurrahman, Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Gerindra Party’s Central Executive Board, said that Achmad Syahri had been proven to have violated the Gerindra Party’s Articles of Association (AD/ART) based on the decision agreed upon by the Gerindra Party’s honorary council, which consists of five trial panels.

“The Gerindra Party’s Honorary Council on Friday, May 15, 2026, examined the complainant, the defendant, and witnesses, and reviewed the evidence, and decided on the matter of violations of the Gerindra Party’s Articles of Association,” said Fikrah at the Gerindra Party’s Central Executive Board office in Jakarta, Friday.

If he commits further violations in the future, he said that Syahri would be immediately subject to the sanction of dismissal as a Member of the Jember Regency DPRD.

Meanwhile, Yunico Syahrir, a member of the Honorary Council, said that Achmad Syahri had violated seven articles in the Gerindra AD/ART, namely Article 16, paragraph 2 of the AD, which is to uphold the name and honor of the Gerindra Party.

Then, Article 16, paragraph 3 of the AD, Article 67, paragraph 5 of the AD, regarding the oath of cadres to obey and comply with the party’s ideology and discipline, and to maintain the party’s honor, dignity, and solidarity.

Then, Article 68 of the AD regarding the identity of party cadres that in their daily life and behavior they will always act politely, disciplined, and humbly. Furthermore, Article 2, paragraph 1 of the ART, regarding compliance and implementation of all the Articles of Association and the Gerindra Party’s internal regulations.

Next, Article 2, paragraph 2 of the ART regarding compliance and implementation of the decisions of the congress and the party’s provisions and regulations, and Article 2, paragraph 4 of the ART, namely defending the party’s interests from every effort and action that harms the party. (Ant)
