A man with the initials S in Nagrak Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor, West Java, has committed an outrageous act. The man stole belongings from his friend, identified as F, despite having been given a place to stay at the victim’s rented accommodation.

“In this case, officers detained a man with the initials S, who is suspected of stealing a number of items belonging to the victim, identified as F, including one motorcycle, two mobile phones, one wristwatch, and one power bank,” said Gunung Putri Police Chief Commissioner Hillal Adi Himawan on Saturday (29/8/2026).

The incident occurred on Wednesday, 19 August 2026. Based on the investigation, the suspect S had previously come to the victim’s rented accommodation and asked for permission to stay overnight.

“The suspect is known to be a friend of the victim’s husband,” he said.

The following day at 7.00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time, the suspect saw a number of the victim’s valuables on the front table of the rented accommodation. At that time, the victim was still asleep.

“The suspect then entered the room and is believed to have taken the motorcycle key that was inside the room,” he said.

After successfully taking the key, the suspect stole the items on the table. He placed them in the motorcycle’s storage compartment and rode away.

“Based on the investigation and examination of the suspect, it was discovered that the victim’s wristwatch was sold in the Bekasi area for around Rp350,000,” said Hillal.

Meanwhile, the victim’s motorcycle was sold in the Tangerang area for around Rp6.55 million. The suspect used the stolen money to buy clothes and play online gambling.

“For his actions, suspect S is charged under Article 476 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of five years, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions,” he concluded.
