Give us Islamic law

Give us Islamic law

From Republika

Murder, robbery, pornography, prostitution and a protracted
economic crisis are common for Indonesians today.

Understandably, efforts have been made to address these social
ills. One of these efforts is the amendment of the 1945
Constitution. Many people believe that without this amendment,
the Constitution cannot be properly implemented because many
articles are manipulated and interpreted only with a view toward
preserving power.

The question is whether or not all these social ills can be
solved once the Constitution is amended. If we can amend the
present Constitution, which has been held sacred for 56 years, of
course the new Constitution (i.e. the amended 1945 Constitution)
could be amended even easier. Clearly, this shows that whatever
is made by human reason is limited.

God has endowed upon mankind the perfect Dinul Islam, with its
fair and comprehensive laws. Why don't we totally amend the 1945
Constitution toward the adoption of Islamic law?
