Bali’s Deputy Governor I Nyoman Giri Prasta responded to concerns about the proposed amendments to the Regional Regulation on Taxes and Regional Levies, deemed inconsistent during the Bali DPRD plenary meeting on Friday (24/4/2026). In the previous plenary session, the Gerindra-PSI faction viewed the draft regional regulation on amendments to Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2024 on Regional Taxes and Levies as inconsistent in its provisions. This is because, on one hand, it regulates changes, and on the other, it revokes and declares two Bali Governor’s Regulations as revoked. The Gerindra-PSI faction questioned whether those governor’s regulations were special, requiring revocation through a regional regulation. “Or does the Governor realise that determining tariffs is not appropriately regulated through legal products in the form of Governor’s Regulations? Thus, realising that such actions require higher legality in their revocation, namely through a Regional Regulation,” said the Chairman of the Gerindra-PSI Faction, Gede Harja Astawa. Giri Prasta explained that the revocation of the two governor’s regulations was because they had already been accommodated in the current regulation amendment being discussed. “The revocation of the two Governor’s Regulations regulating service tariffs at Dharma Yadnya Hospital was carried out because the service tariff regulations have been accommodated in the draft regional regulation being discussed,” Giri replied. In addition, Giri also denied any compensation provided by the Bali Provincial Government to RSUD Dharma Yadnya from the Yayasan Resi Markandya. “Based on the Grant Document between the Yayasan Dharma Usada Resi Markandeya and the Bali Provincial Government, there is no mention of providing compensation,” he stated.
