Ginandjar to meet Greenspan
WASHINGTON (Dow Jones): Ginandjar Kartasasmita, Indonesia's senior economics minister, is tentatively scheduled to meet with U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan as well as other officials when he travels to Washington today and tomorrow, Indonesian embassy officials said.
Ginandjar also is expected to meet with U.S. Export-Import Bank Chairman James Harmon, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Michel Camdessus and World Bank President James Wolfensohn, as reported.
He was scheduled to arrive in the U.S. capital yesterday and depart tomorrow, the embassy officials said.
The Indonesian minister is also tentatively planning to hold a press conference tomorrow, at which he would presumably provide his perspective on his several days' of meetings in Washington and New York, where he will meet with bankers.
Ginandjar is traveling to the U.S. to begin a "road show" to try to sell a debt restructuring plan for Indonesian companies and banks that was developed at the beginning of June in Frankfurt.
