Gilimanuk Port Congested Again, Tailback Reaches 1.5 km
Severe congestion stretching up to 1.5 kilometres occurred at Gilimanuk Port in Jembrana, Bali, on Friday morning (26/6/2026). The Bali Land Transportation Management Centre (BPTD) revealed the vehicle queue was caused by bad weather. “At Gilimanuk Port there is currently a queue due to bad weather and an increase in vehicles crossing to Ketapang,” said Head of BPTD Bali I Made Suraharta. He explained that the bad weather on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route made it difficult for ships to dock. “Because there are many vehicles from Ketapang, the transport of vehicles from Gilimanuk is delayed,” he continued. This was also caused by a reduction in ships loading logistics at Tanjung Wangi. As a result, lorries switched to Ketapang Port. “We are trying to accelerate the loading and unloading process,” Suraharta stated. Based on BPTD Bali data and monitoring, vehicle volume at Gilimanuk has increased over the past two days. It was recorded that on 24-25 June 2026, the number of vehicles rose from an average of five thousand to six thousand vehicles per day.
