Gili Trawangan Businesswoman's 1.5-Year Prison Sentence for Land Corruption Upheld
The Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) High Court has upheld the prison sentence for Gili Trawangan businesswoman Ida Adnawati, who was convicted of corruption related to the misuse of provincial government land for a private enterprise in North Lombok. The appellate court confirmed the ruling of the Mataram Corruption Court, sentencing her to one year and six months in prison, minus time already served in detention. The panel of judges, chaired by Arie Winarsih with members Anne Rusiana and Diah Susilowati, ordered that the defendant remain in custody.
In the original verdict delivered on Monday, 11 May 2026, the Mataram Corruption Court, chaired by Mukhlassuddin, also imposed a fine of Rp100 million, with a 60-day custodial sentence in default of payment. The court further ordered Ida Adnawati to pay Rp300 million in restitution for state losses, with the provision that her assets be seized and auctioned if payment is not made within one month of the ruling becoming legally binding. Should her assets prove insufficient, she faces an additional one-year prison term. The judges ruled that Rp360 million previously deposited by the defendant with the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office be allocated towards the restitution.
Ida Adnawati was found guilty under Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 65 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. The sentence was lighter than the prosecution’s demand of three years and six months’ imprisonment, a Rp100 million fine, and Rp1.4 billion in restitution. The case, which also involved former UPTD Tramena head Mawardi Khairi and PT Ombak Buena Gili director Alpin Agustin, stemmed from a 2021 investigation following the termination of PT Gili Trawangan Indah’s contract with the NTB provincial government to manage a 65-hectare tourist area. The investigation uncovered state losses amounting to Rp1.4 billion.
