Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Indonesia’s largest commercial vehicle exhibition, GIICOMVEC 2026, has officially opened this week in Jakarta. This business-to-business event returns with a more interactive concept, directly targeting the needs of players in the transportation and logistics sectors.

This year, the exhibition has moved to a new location at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran, deemed more strategic for reaching industry participants. From the first day of preparations, the exhibition area has been bustling with booth construction activities from various global automotive brands.

GAIKINDO General Chairman Putu Juli Ardika stated that the event reflects the growing competitiveness of the national automotive industry.

“GIICOMVEC 2026 is proof that the national automotive industry has succeeded in producing a line-up of commercial vehicles meeting global quality standards. We want to demonstrate that commercial vehicles manufactured in Indonesia have high competitiveness, not only to meet domestic needs but also to be highly competitive in international markets. This exhibition is a picture of the strength of our automotive industry, particularly in commercial vehicles, at present,” Putu explained at GIICOMVEC at JiExpo Kemayoran on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Various automotive brands have prepared to showcase their flagship product lines. For light commercial vehicles, brands such as Daihatsu, DFSK, and Toyota fill the main exhibition area, while heavy vehicles and heavy equipment are concentrated in a separate hall.

Not only displaying products, the organisers also provide direct experiences for visitors. This facility is designed so that business players can assess vehicles more comprehensively before making business decisions.

“Through GIICOMVEC 2026, we aim to facilitate the industry’s needs for commercial vehicles that are not only reliable but also support the government’s targets in energy efficiency and transport safety. This exhibition serves as a strategic platform for business players to exchange information and technology to achieve a more modern and sustainable transportation system,” Putu added.

GAIKINDO Exhibition Organising Committee Chairman Anton Kumonty emphasised that this interactive approach is the main added value of this year’s exhibition.

“We want GIICOMVEC 2026 to help entrepreneurs make decisions easily. Through the Demo Area and Outdoor Static Display, visitors can directly test the vehicle’s performance. We want to ensure that the chosen vehicle is truly beneficial and suitable for advancing their businesses,” Anton said.

In addition to the indoor area, visitors can also utilise the Demo Area to test vehicle performance directly. Meanwhile, the Outdoor Static Display provides space for visitors to view vehicle details in real outdoor conditions.

GIICOMVEC 2026 is held from 8 to 11 April 2026, with the first three days focused on business participants and the final day open to the public. Unlike typical automotive exhibitions, this event does not charge an entry fee, but visitors are required to register as trade visitors.

With a more integrated concept combining exhibitions, test drives, and discussion forums, GIICOMVEC 2026 is expected to become a meeting point between industry needs and evolving commercial vehicle technology solutions.
