A total of 19 automotive manufacturers will participate in GIIAS Bandung, taking place from 9-13 September. The lineup consists of 16 car brands and 3 motorcycle brands.

“There are three new faces in this exhibition: Changan, iCar, and Jetour. Two other brands, KIA and Triumph, are returning after not participating last year,” said Abiyoso Wietono, Project Director of GIIAS The Series, in Bandung on Wednesday (2/9).

This year marks the fourth instalment of GIIAS in Bandung, held at the Sudirman Grand Ballroom on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

In addition to providing exhibition space for 19 vehicle brands, this edition will feature 11 automotive supporting industries, ranging from lubricants and vehicle maintenance to window film, technology, and security.

“For this exhibition, we are also providing a 3.2-kilometre track for test drives. There are 36 cars and 19 motorcycles prepared for the public to test,” added Abiyoso.

To cater to visitors, the exhibition also provides culinary stalls featuring 15 food and beverage products. Entrance tickets are priced between Rp15,000 and Rp30,000.

“In terms of vehicle sales, West Java holds the second-largest position after DKI Jakarta. This is undoubtedly a massive potential, so Bandung and West Java should not be overlooked,” he concluded.

According to Abiyoso, the entry of new brands as exhibitors provides fresh momentum. “The more they join, the wider the choices available to the public.”

West Java is Crucial

At the same opportunity, Kukuh Kumara, General Secretary of the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), stated that car sales in West Java remain very promising. In the second semester of 2025, total sales had reached 40,000 units out of a national total of 200,000 units.

He continued that West Java’s position is vital in the automotive world. Besides having an open and large market, West Java also dominates automotive production in Indonesia, with numerous automotive industries located in the region.

“Investment in West Java has reached Rp296 trillion, the highest nationally. In the automotive sector, West Java conducts significant exports. Furthermore, the region is strengthened by the presence of Patimban Port, which serves as a key access point for vehicle and component exports,” he added.

However, despite West Java’s importance to the automotive industry, the region lacks a representative exhibition space. “This is one of the obstacles when we need a venue to hold GIIAS. The existing venues have very limited capacity,” concluded Kukuh.
