GIIAS 2026: Suzuki Targets 20% Market Share in LSUV Segment with New XL7
PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) has expressed strong optimism about capturing a 20 per cent market share in Indonesia’s three-row Low Sport Utility Vehicle (LSUV) segment. This target was announced alongside the introduction of the refreshed Suzuki New XL7 at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.
Julius Purwanto, Head of the 4W Department at PT SIS, explained that a series of updates to the New XL7 serve as the primary asset to attract consumers in an increasingly competitive market. The company is closely monitoring market conditions in the second half of the year to ensure the target is met. ‘We are observing the market conditions in the second semester and consumer response to this launch. However, we are reserving a target for the XL7 to achieve a 20 per cent market share in the three-row LSUV segment,’ Julius stated on the sidelines of GIIAS 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Wednesday (29/7).
In addition to the long-term market share goal, Suzuki has also set an ambitious sales target for the duration of the GIIAS 2026 exhibition. Deputy Managing Director of PT SIS, Donny Saputra, revealed that the company is aiming for total sales of 2,200 units across its entire product line, with the New XL7 expected to be the main contributor to this figure. ‘Actually, we also have a sales target for GIIAS itself, which is 2,200 units in total,’ said Donny.
To support these targets, Suzuki has ensured the readiness of New XL7 distribution throughout Indonesia. Production commenced in early July 2026, and units have been available in official dealer networks since the third week of July. Prospective buyers can now view display units and conduct test drives at nearby dealerships. Suzuki has confirmed that distribution to all regions of Indonesia has been completed, allowing vehicles to be ordered and delivered to consumers starting from the end of July.
The New XL7 is available in various variants, ranging from the Zeta type to the flagship Alpha Hybrid.
