JAKARTA (ANTARA) – This year’s Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 features the overarching theme “Eye of the Future” to represent the automotive industry’s progression towards smart and sustainable vehicles.

Gaikindo’s Permanent Chairman, Anton Kemal Tasli Kumonty, stated that this year’s theme underscores how future vehicles will no longer be passive transport tools but will be capable of seeing, thinking, and responding to their surroundings.

“Through this theme, GIIAS 2026 will showcase future innovations, from smart vehicle technology and automated driving systems to eco-friendly automotive solutions,” Anton Kemal Tasli Kumonty told journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.

These innovations form part of the global automotive industry’s transformation towards electrification and digitalisation.

“Each year, GIIAS remains committed to providing a better, more enriching experience for the public, especially for local automotive enthusiasts,” he added.

Beyond product exhibitions, GIIAS 2026 will also feature educational programmes through the GIIAS International Automotive Conference (KIAC) and daily seminars, bringing together global automotive industry experts and stakeholders.

As of May 2026, over 60 vehicle brands are confirmed to participate, including 41 passenger car brands, six commercial vehicle brands, four bodybuilders, and 12 motorcycle brands. Notably, six new brands will make their debut at this year’s GIIAS.
