The General Chairman of Gibranku, Ananta Agung Junaedy, has expressed regret over a statement by Budi Arie Setiadi, who suggested that the political situation could move faster than the 2029 election and raised the possibility of a ‘historical rupture’ or public unease over economic conditions.

According to Ananta, Budi Arie’s statement does not reflect the current political situation.

“All elements of volunteers supporting Prabowo and Gibran still and continue to support the government in completing the National programmes under Asta Cita until 2029,” Ananta said in a written statement on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.

In fact, Ananta said, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, had also previously stated that he supports Prabowo-Gibran for two terms.

“The volunteers’ stance remains the same and has not changed to this day; we are loyal in supporting and overseeing the Prabowo-Gibran administration until the end of its term of office,” he said.

Ananta also confirmed that Budi Arie’s statement was a personal stance, without the support of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), or his family.

“In essence, we all regret the statement,” he said.
