Gibran Visits Two Areas Severely Affected by Flores Earthquake Today

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to visit earthquake victims in the Flores regions of Manggarai and East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, on Friday (21/8/2026). These two regencies were severely affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake on 15 August. Gibran departed by helicopter from Komodo International Airport in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai. “RI 2 (Gibran) went directly by helicopter to Manggarai and East Manggarai,” said the Head of Protocol and Leadership Communication for East Manggarai, Yeni Maria Viani Wajong, on Friday morning. In East Manggarai, Gibran is scheduled to visit evacuation posts in the Dampek and Pota areas. The visit to Manggarai and East Manggarai is the second day of Gibran’s inspection of evacuation posts in Flores. The previous day, Gibran visited earthquake victims in Sikka.
