Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka undertook an official visit to Tuban Regency, East Java, on Friday to review several strategic sites connected to the industrial sector and the people’s economy.

According to information received on Friday afternoon, the Vice President and his limited entourage departed Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta at 06:00 WIB aboard the presidential Boeing 737-800 NG of the Indonesian Air Force to Juanda International Airport, Surabaya.

On arrival in Surabaya, after a journey of about 1 hour 20 minutes, Gibran continued by Presidential Super Puma helicopter to the helipad at Karangasem Village, Jenu District, Tuban Regency.

In Tuban, the Vice President first headed to the office of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. At the location, the Vice President was scheduled to chair a meeting with the company's management to discuss developments in the national cement industry and efforts to strengthen the strategic industrial sector in the region.

After the meeting, the Vice President's programme continued with a visit to the Talavera Project Jetty belonging to PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in the Socorejo area of Jenu District. The visit was undertaken to observe directly the progress of the project and its contribution to strengthening the national industrial sector.

Next, the Vice President would visit Pasar Gelondong Gede in Tambakboyo District to review trading activities and the condition of the people’s market, which is one of the drivers of the local economy.

This working visit forms part of the government's endeavour to implement President Prabowo Subianto’s directives to strengthen regional economic development, promote the downstreaming of industry, and ensure that economic activity, including in people’s markets, can grow inclusively and sustainably.

Through direct field inspections, the government aims to ensure that various development programmes are implemented effectively and benefit the people.

During this working visit to Tuban Regency, the Vice President was accompanied by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Commander of the V/Brawijaya Military Region, Major General Rudy Saladin, East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto, and Tuban Regent Aditya Halindra Faridzky along with the relevant officials.
