JAKARTA — Vice President Gibran Rakabuming has emphasised the importance of using artificial intelligence, or AI, wisely and responsibly amid the increasingly rapid disruption of technology. ‘Use AI responsibly and in accordance with ethics,’ he said during the 13th National Working Meeting of the National Leadership Council of the Hindu Youth Association (DPN Peradah Indonesia) at Pura Aditya Rawamangun, East Jakarta, on Friday, 6 March 2026, according to his statement. ‘I always stress, do not become overly dependent on AI. Critical thinking is important. The ability to solve problems is important. And the most important thing is to think in a computational way,’ he added. Furthermore, the Vice President urged young people, including the extended Peradah family, to capitalise on the demographic dividend. This aligns with President Prabowo’s fourth Asta Cita mission on strengthening human resource development (HRD), science, and technology. According to Gibran, the current conditions present a strategic opportunity for Indonesia to push for higher national productivity. He also encouraged youths to strengthen character, improve competencies, and expand their involvement in development. ‘So this is our opportunity, our strength, at a time when many other countries are facing a population crisis,’ he said. Attendees included Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, Deputy Minister for Population and Family Development Isyana Bagoes Oka, Director General for Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs I Nengah Duija, Treasurer of Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia Made Sumadiartaha, and the Chairwoman of Hindu Dharma Indonesia Women Wikanti Yogi.
