Gibran to Attend the 55th Haul of Abdul Wahab Chasbullah

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received a delegation from the Majelis Pengasuh Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum (PPBU) Tambakberas Jombang at the Vice Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Majelis Pengasuh PPBU Tambakberas Jombang, M. Hasib Wahab Chasbullah, known as Gus Hasib, accompanied by Chisbiyah Wahab and Mundjidah Wahab. Hasib stated that Gibran has been invited to attend the 55th haul commemoration of Abdul Wahab Chasbullah, a national hero and the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama. According to Hasib, Gibran has agreed to attend the event held in Tambakberas, Jombang, on Sunday, 10 May 2026. “Gibran will be ready to attend in Tambakberas on 10 May 2026,” said Gus Hasib in a statement from the Vice Presidential Secretariat. Hasib hopes that Gibran can serve as a bridge in strengthening synergy between the government and pesantren circles through ongoing silaturahmi. According to Hasib, this close relationship between ulama and umara (government leaders) is important as part of efforts to maintain harmony in national life, as reflected in hadith teachings. On this occasion, the extended family of PPBU Tambakberas Jombang also conveyed prayers and hopes for the smooth execution of Gibran’s duties in carrying out the state’s mandate under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. “We also pray for Gibran in carrying out state duties to be granted ease, success, and safety, as well as health by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala,” said Hasib.
