Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is reported to have sent 50 of his staff to the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in Kalimantan to prepare all necessary requirements before starting to office there.

The news was conveyed by the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, during a working meeting in Commission II of the DPR on Monday (30/3). Basuki also predicted that the plan will be realised this year.

“Earlier there was an issue saying the Vice President wants to office there, is there any news?” asked the Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, during the meeting.

“I think yes, because he has already assigned 50 staff there for the preparations. Hopefully it will happen soon,” replied Basuki.

“This year?”

“Insha’Allah,” Basuki responded.

He also hopes that Gibran will soon office at IKN, following him who has already been living there earlier.

According to Basuki, all current preparations are nearly complete, from the buildings, houses, to all furnishings.

However, Basuki cannot yet predict the exact time when Gibran will office at IKN. Because, he added, the office for the eldest son of the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is still in preparation.

But, he assured that if Gibran decides to start officing this year at IKN, it can certainly be done.

“This year is possible, because the building is already done, the temporary furniture is also already done,” said Basuki.
