Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka flagged off the 2026 Easter Parade in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Monday (6/4). The Easter parade was attended by dozens of participants from various churches in NTT. The event proceeded from Tirosa Roundabout in Kupang City. In his address, Gibran stressed the importance of unity and interfaith tolerance for the integrity of the nation and state. “As a diverse and multifaceted nation, we must maintain unity, peace, and the values of tolerance,” Gibran said while attending the Easter Parade in Kupang. Gibran urged all parties not to use differences as a reason to divide the nation. According to him, differences should instead foster national unity and cohesion. Gibran also advised the people of NTT not to be easily provoked by various issues that could lead to societal division. “Do not let differences become divisive, do not be easily provoked, do not easily believe false news; if there are seeds of misunderstanding, mediate immediately, clarify, and find a middle path,” he stated. The son of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited the public to mutually support and strengthen one another. According to him, no country can achieve development without national unity.
