JAKARTA — PT Pertamina (Persero) has confirmed that prices of gasoline (BBM) and LPG in its official network in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) conform to the reference price. The prices of BBM in NTT had previously drawn scrutiny after Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received information from local residents about Pertalite priced at Rp25,000 per litre. Pertamina sets the price of Pertalite as subsidised BBM at Rp10,000 per litre across all SPBU. ‘Pertamina sells BBM and LPG through its official distribution network, and the price at Pertamina’s SPBU remains based on the price that has been officially set,’ Pertamina spokesperson Muhammad Baron told Kompas.com on Saturday (23 May 2026). ‘Pertamina also supports the government’s efforts to expand energy access across Indonesia,’ Baron added. Earlier, Gibran visited Amfoang Barat Daya District, Kupang Regency, NTT, on Friday (22 May 2026). He spoke with local residents about various problems, including difficulty obtaining BBM, especially Pertalite. Gibran then asked about the Pertalite price in the area. ‘If you buy BBM, especially Pertalite, what is the price per litre now?’ he asked the residents. ‘Rp 25,000 per litre,’ the residents replied in unison. Residents also said they have difficulty obtaining LPG gas and have to use firewood and kerosene for cooking. ‘So the main problem is the fuel. After this we will coordinate with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and Pertamina,’ said Gibran.
