Gibran Rakabuming Accompanies Son Jan Ethes to Eid al-Adha Prayer at Istiqlal Mosque

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka attended the Eid al-Adha prayer for 1447 AH at Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet on 27 May 2026. Tempo observed on Wednesday that Gibran arrived at 6:55 AM WIB. He immediately greeted several government officials present and was seen sitting in the front row of the prayer line. Ministers present included Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, and Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Sultan Najamuddin. In addition to the ministers, Gibran also prayed alongside his eldest son, Jan Ethes. Both wore light green koko shirts and sat in the front row. Gibran sat next to his son Jan Ethes and Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar. Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto will perform the Eid al-Adha prayer in France, where he is currently on his third visit in five months. Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro confirmed the state visit when asked about President Prabowo’s Eid prayer plans. ‘The President went on a foreign trip yesterday to France, so he will adjust accordingly as he is still there on Wednesday,’ he said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
