Gibran Presents Eid Hampers to Suspect in Allegations of Forged Jokowi Certificates Rismon Sianipar

Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, presented Eid hampers to suspect in the case of allegations regarding forged educational certificates, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), identified as Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar.

Rismon was observed visiting the Vice Presidential Palace in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.

According to VIVA’s monitoring, Gibran and Rismon exited the Vice Presidential Palace whilst conversing. Before media representatives, Gibran posed for a photograph with Rismon and subsequently presented Eid hampers to the suspect in the alleged forged certificate case.

During the visit, Rismon expressed that he was extending Ramadhan greetings to Gibran, who is the eldest son of Jokowi.

Rismon stated that Gibran received him openly and with familial warmth. He added that the Jokowi family cultivates democratic values despite being criticised harshly by Rismon and others accused in the alleged forged certificate case.

“Openness, the maturity of a family – even though criticised harshly, even criticised impolitely, ridiculed by myself and others – that a family which in my view instils democratic values,” Rismon said.

On the other hand, he stated that he had personally conveyed an apology to Jokowi in Solo on Thursday, 12 March 2026. He explained to Jokowi regarding his latest research on the educational certificates.

“When I visited Mr Jokowi’s home in Solo yesterday, I was taken aback. Of course, after I apologised for my writing, my research, what I found with more recent studies, although with the same methodology, but with more complete data,” he said.

Previously, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka responded to the apology conveyed by researcher Rismon Sianipar to Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo regarding his research in a book titled Jokowi’s White Paper.

Gibran, in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta on Thursday evening, stated that Ramadhan is an excellent month for mutual forgiveness and rebuilding the bonds of brotherhood.

Vice President Gibran also appreciated Rismon’s statement and stance in conveying clarification and his willingness to reconsider previously made public statements.
