Overall, the managing director has reported that the construction progress has reached 59 percent. By the end of 2027, the HI-Monas section will be connected and operational,” said Gibran after inspecting the MRT Phase 2A project in the Harmoni area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

Gibran stated that 3,800 local workers are involved in the construction of the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A project. He also appreciated the performance of thousands of workers who have been working marathons from morning to night.

“Thank you very much for working morning, afternoon, and night so that the construction progress here can follow the timeline,” he said.

In particular, Gibran also thanked Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung for his commitment in making breakthroughs related to public transportation in Jakarta. Gibran praised Pramono’s policy in expanding TransJakarta operations to agglomeration areas.

“I also convey thanks to the Governor for his commitment to the development of MRT and LRT. We can see that TransJakarta now also serves agglomeration areas,” Gibran stated.

“And I greatly appreciate the innovative breakthroughs from the Governor regarding public transportation in Jakarta, which now waives fares for 15 groups. This is extraordinary. Including these groups, what are they? The elderly, the disabled, this is truly extraordinary,” he added.

According to Gibran, innovations in the public transportation sector also align with the vision of the Prabowo Subianto administration in providing comfortable and safe transportation services for the community.

“This modern public transportation is one of the priorities of the President. And I am confident that if the public transportation is safe, comfortable, modern, and integrated, everyone will flock to use public transportation,” Gibran remarked.
