Gibran Opens Dialogue with Student Protesters at Vice Presidential Office

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received representatives of a student mass demonstration near the Patung Kuda area in Central Jakarta. He carefully reviewed documents together with the student representatives.

Based on photos received by detikcom on Monday (15/6/2026), several student representatives were seen seated inside the Vice President’s office. The students were wearing red and blue university jackets.

In the photos, Gibran was standing before the students. He was also seen leafing through documents while accompanied by two students who were explaining the documents to him. It was not yet known what documents Gibran was reading. Other students were seen seated, awaiting the meeting.

The student representatives entered the Vice Presidential Palace at 17:19 WIB. Fifteen students wearing red and blue alma mater jackets were seen entering. They were inspected by Vice Presidential Palace security personnel before entering the office. It was initially unknown whom the student representatives would meet inside the Vice President’s office.

“Our struggle has borne fruit, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received us to convey our aspirations. We conveyed to the Vice President to bring our demands to the Palace,” said the student demonstration orator.
