Jakarta, VIVA – Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has said that he respects every survey result, study or analysis presented by research institutions.

He also stated that he respects every piece of input and criticism conveyed by the public.

“I also respect every form of public participation, including observers, academics, members of the media, and the initiative of young people in conveying input or forming a shadow cabinet,” Gibran said in a statement on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.

Gibran said that every citizen has the right to convey criticism, suggestions and opinions towards the government.

“In a democratic country, every citizen has the right to express opinions, offer criticism, and help oversee the course of the government. All of that is part of a healthy democratic life,” he explained.

He said the government regards criticism and input from the public as material for evaluation going forward, as long as what is conveyed is data-based and objective.

“Because the government’s task is to work better, listen more, and ensure that every policy genuinely benefits the public,” Gibran explained.

Gibran expressed his belief that criticism and input from the public will improve the quality of government governance.

“And public trust can continue to be maintained through real work, openness, and accountability,” he concluded.
