Gibran guarantees MBG programme governance free from corruption
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is committed to improving the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme to ensure it is free from corrupt practices, maximising the budget so it is genuinely felt by the community. “We will ensure every rupiah is properly utilised and, most importantly, free from corruption,” Gibran said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Thursday before departing for a working visit. The Vice President explained that these improvement measures are crucial for the government. According to him, the commitment to restructuring aims to maintain public trust in priority programmes. In addition to focusing on MBG governance, the government is also paying attention to the grassroots economy. Gibran stressed that the government is also committed to improving the governance of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives. On the same occasion, Gibran also expressed appreciation to all student groups for peacefully conveying their aspirations regarding improvements to government programmes. He also assessed that the input provided by the students is very valuable for the running of the government. “Thank you for the constructive input, especially regarding MBG and cooperatives,” the Vice President said. Gibran invited five students on his working visit to review priority programmes in five provinces, hailing from Pelita Harapan University, Sanata Dharma University, the University of Indonesia, Jenderal Soedirman University, and the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI). The working visit, scheduled for 18-21 June 2026 to the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Gorontalo, West Papua, Central Papua, and South Papua, aims to ensure the optimal implementation of various government priority programmes while strengthening synergy with regional governments and communities, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives.
