Gibran, via his personal Instagram account (@gibran_rakabuming), wrote a comment on Vidi Aldiano’s post (@vidialdiano) stating that Indonesia has lost a young, talented talent whose works have brought colour, inspiration, and new hope to the domestic arts scene. ‘Our deepest condolences. He also stated that the late artist’s dedication to his craft will always be remembered. ‘The late one’s dedication will always be remembered,’ he added. The singer and songwriter Vidi Aldiano is reported to have died on Saturday after receiving treatment for kidney cancer that had plagued him in recent years. The news of his death circulated on social media after messages of condolences from several figures in music and public life, including composer Andi Rianto and Adib Hidayat, among others. The news was then confirmed by the family, who said that Vidi Aldiano died on Saturday, 7 March 2026, after fighting the illness. Previously, the Jakarta-born singer had been diagnosed with kidney cancer since 2019 and underwent surgery and medical treatment abroad. In recent months, his activities in the entertainment world had diminished as he focused on health recovery.
