Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka handed over 15 Chromebook units while inspecting the construction of infrastructure at SD Inpres Kaniti in Penfui Timur Village, Central Kupang Subdistrict, Kupang Regency, on Monday (6/4).

Gibran arrived at SD Kaniti accompanied by the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena and Deputy Governor Johni Asadoma, along with several regional officials, including Kupang Regent Yoseph Lede.

This visit marks the second time Vice President Gibran has visited the school, following his previous trip in 2025. At that time, in addition to providing school equipment assistance, he outlined plans for educational facility development and the initial handover of Chromebook devices through the school’s CSR partner programme.

On this visit, Vice President Gibran reaffirmed his commitment to the digitalisation of education by adding 15 Chromebook units. These devices are expected to support technology-based learning processes, enhance students’ digital literacy, and facilitate more interactive teaching methods.

In addition, Gibran reviewed the results of the school infrastructure construction and rehabilitation. The facilities built include the rehabilitation of 11 classrooms, the construction of three new classrooms along with their furnishings, and the building of one administrative room, one teachers’ room, and one toilet each.

“The construction has been well realised and hopefully it will be beneficial for the students and teachers,” said Gibran.

On that occasion, Vice President Gibran also handed over learning supplies in the form of stationery and books to the students. He emphasised that improvements in infrastructure combined with digital device support such as Chromebooks are expected to boost the quality of education at SD Inpres Kaniti, both in terms of facilities and teaching methods.

The Principal of SD Inpres Kaniti, Yuliana Nenabu, expressed gratitude for Vice President Gibran’s second visit and the various assistance provided.

“We are pleased with Vice President Gibran’s second arrival and thank you for the attention in the form of classroom revitalisation and rehabilitation construction and the addition of three classrooms, an administrative room, a teachers’ room, and a toilet. This greatly helps the learning process and our needs here,” explained Yuliana.

The Governor of NTT, Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, expressed appreciation for the central government’s attention to educational development in the region.

“This classroom construction is a form of the central government’s attention to East Nusa Tenggara. Last year the plans were conveyed, and now they have been completed and are being used by the students,” he said.
