Gibran Confident Sudaryono Will Lead BGN with Integrity: 'Every Rupiah Must Be Accountable'

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has voiced his trust in Sudaryono, who was officially inaugurated as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) by President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. Sudaryono replaces Nanik S. Deyang.

Gibran expressed confidence that Sudaryono’s experience as Deputy Minister of Agriculture will ensure the smooth continuation of the agency’s work. ‘I believe in Mr Sudaryono’s experience in overseeing food security. I am confident he can lead the BGN well,’ Gibran stated.

He stressed that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme must be managed with greater transparency and precision. ‘I support the implementation of the MBG programme so that it becomes better, more transparent, and well-targeted. Every rupiah must be accountable and provide real benefits for improving the nutrition of Indonesian children,’ he added.

Gibran also encouraged the programme to focus on disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions (3T) by actively involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), school canteens, and parents. He expressed his hope that this presidential priority programme would be managed neatly and free from corrupt practices. The Vice President also wished the former head, Nanik S. Deyang, a speedy recovery.
